The sizes we offer
Matching sets are rarely worn by two people of the same build. That is why every design is offered across a range of sizes, and why each person in your set chooses their own. The size buttons on each product page show exactly which sizes that piece comes in; not every product is offered in every range.
| Range | Sizes | Price note | Where you will find it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Adult unisex | S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL | 2XL is $2 more, 3XL is $4 more than the base price | Hoodies, crewnecks, the quarter-zip, tees and pair sets |
| Youth | XS, S, M, L, XL | Shown on each size button | Family pieces and the kids crewneck |
| Toddler | 2T, 3T, 4T | Shown on each size button | Family pieces |
| Baby | 6M, 12M, 18M | Shown on each size button | The baby bodysuit |
| Beanie | One size | Single price | The cuffed knit beanie |
Whatever price difference applies to a size is already included in the price you see when you select it, so the cart never surprises you.
What “unisex” means here
Our adult sizes are unisex. They are cut to be worn by anyone, with a straight body rather than a shaped waist. If you usually shop a fitted cut, you may find a unisex piece feels a little roomier through the waist and hips. Many people pick their usual size and enjoy the easier drape; others size down for a closer look. The next sections help you decide.
How to measure a garment you already own
The most reliable sizing tool is already in your closet. Choose a hoodie, crewneck or tee that the wearer loves the fit of, ideally the same kind of garment you plan to order, and measure it flat. You will need a soft tape measure or a ruler and a flat surface like a table or a bed.
Lay it flat
Spread the garment face up, smooth out the wrinkles and fold the sleeves gently to the sides. Do not stretch the fabric while you measure; let it rest naturally.
Chest width
Measure straight across the front, from the bottom of one armpit seam to the bottom of the other. This is the measurement that matters most for how roomy a top feels.
Body length
Measure from the highest point of the shoulder, where the collar meets the shoulder seam, straight down to the bottom hem. On a hoodie, measure to the bottom of the ribbed band.
Sleeve length
Measure from the shoulder seam along the top of the sleeve to the end of the cuff. For long sleeves and hoodies, this tells you whether cuffs will sit at the wrist or bunch up.
What to do with your numbers
Write the three measurements down with the product name and the size you are considering, and email them to us. We will compare them with that size for that product and share what we can confirm. You are always welcome to ask for the exact measurements of a size before you order; we would rather help you choose well than have you guess.
Choosing for couples who want the same look
A matching set looks best when each person wears a size that suits them, not when both wear the same label. The design stays the same; the garment around it follows the wearer.
Two people, two sizes, one design
On two-part designs, each half is its own cart line. Maya chooses the Moon half in L because she likes her hoodies loose; Jordan chooses the Star half in S for a neater fit. Two lines, two sizes, one parcel. Neither person has to compromise on fit to match.
When one of you is between sizes
Ask how the garment will be worn. A hoodie for cozy evenings or layering over a tee often feels better in the larger size. A tee worn tucked or under a jacket usually suits the smaller one. If the wearer’s favorite top measures in between, choose based on the fit they enjoy most in that favorite piece.
Keeping the look balanced
If one partner is much taller or broader than the other, the design will look proportionate on each garment, because it sits on the chest of each piece. In photos, matching sets read as matched because of the design and colors, not because the garments are the same size.
Pair sets and the second-size field
Our 2-piece pair sets put both garments in one listing. You choose the first size in the size buttons and the second size in its own field below. On the mountains-and-waves hoodie pair set, for example, the Waves hoodie size goes in that separate field, so one person can wear a 2XL and the other an S. The salt-and-pepper crewneck set and the sunrise-and-sunset tee set work the same way. Check both sizes in the cart before checkout; they are easy to mix up when you order quickly.
The Mama and Mini set
The Mama and Mini crewneck set has a field for the mini’s size, separate from the adult size buttons. Choose the adult size first, then the child’s size in the mini field.
Regular fit or oversized?
The size you choose decides the feel. There is no separate oversized product; you create the look by choosing a size up.
| The look you want | How to choose | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Regular fit | Your usual size, or the size closest to a favorite piece you measured | Tees under jackets, everyday wear, neater photos |
| Relaxed fit | One size up from your usual | Crewnecks over a collared shirt, lounging, travel days |
| Oversized fit | Two sizes up from your usual | Hoodies worn with leggings or bike shorts, a slouchy look |
Keep in mind that going up a size also makes the sleeves and body longer, not only the chest wider. If length matters to you, compare body length with a piece you own. And if you go up to 2XL or 3XL, the size button shows the price difference.
Matching an oversized look with a regular one
Plenty of couples pair one oversized piece with one regular. It photographs well and feels natural, because people often wear clothes differently anyway. Pick each size for the person, not for the set.
Sizing for kids, toddlers and babies
Little ones grow on their own schedule, which makes family sizing a small puzzle. Here are some gentle rules of thumb.
Choose by the child, not the age alone
Size labels like 3T or Youth S are a starting point. A tall three-year-old may already be comfortable in 4T. Measure a top that fits them well now, using the flat-measuring steps above, and compare.
Leave room to grow
If the set is for a photo day a few weeks away, or for a season of wear, one size up is often the kinder choice for a child. Sleeves can be rolled; a top that is too small cannot be stretched.
Babies
The baby bodysuit comes in 6M, 12M and 18M. Babies change size quickly, so if your little one is near the top of a range, choosing the next size usually gives you more wear.
When a mini size is outgrown
If the mini piece of a Mama and Mini set, or any other child’s size, no longer fits before you expected, you can return it within 60 days of delivery, like any other item.
A family example
A family of four in Big Star and Little Star tees might order adult L, adult M, Youth S and 3T. Each size is chosen on the same product page and added as its own cart line. Write the list down before you start so no one is missed.
Sizing by garment type
The same size label can feel different from one kind of garment to another, simply because of how each is worn. Measure a piece of the same type whenever you can.
Pullover and full-zip hoodies
Hoodies are usually worn over something else, so many people like a little extra room through the chest and arms. If you plan to layer a tee or a thin crewneck underneath, compare with a hoodie you already layer in, not with a fitted top.
Crewneck sweatshirts and the quarter-zip
Crewnecks sit between a tee and a hoodie. Worn alone, your usual size often feels right; worn over a collared shirt for a dinner or a wedding weekend, one size up gives the collar room. The quarter-zip opens at the neck, which makes it easy to pull on even in a closer fit.
Short-sleeve, long-sleeve and pocket tees
Tees are closest to the body, so chest width and body length matter most. If one of you likes a tee tucked in and the other wears it loose, it is completely fine to order different sizes. On long-sleeve tees, check the sleeve measurement of a favorite top as well.
Buying a gift when you do not know the size
Surprises are lovely and sizing is the hard part. A few quiet ways to find out:
- Borrow a hoodie or tee from their closet for a few minutes and measure it flat, using the steps above.
- Check the size label on a top they wear often, and note whether they like it loose or close.
- Ask someone who shops with them, such as a sibling or a close friend.
- When in real doubt, choose the larger of two sizes for hoodies and crewnecks; a roomy sweatshirt is still easy to wear.
If the guess misses, the 60-day return window and free return label mean the recipient can send it back. A gift going to someone in Canada, Australia or New Zealand follows the same return rules.
Common sizing slips to avoid
- Choosing both halves of a two-part design in the same size by habit, when the two of you actually wear different sizes.
- Forgetting to fill the second-size field on a pair set, or swapping the two sizes.
- Comparing a hoodie you plan to buy with a fitted tee you own.
- Measuring a garment while it is stretched or bunched instead of lying flat.
- Choosing a child’s size by age alone, without checking a top that fits now.
Beanies
The cuffed knit beanie is one size, with a fold-up cuff where the initials sit. Knit fabric generally has some give, which is why the beanie is offered in one size. If you are buying for a child or a very small or very large head, email us before ordering and we will share what we can confirm about the fit.

A note on this guide
This guide describes how to choose and how to measure. It does not list measurements in inches or centimeters, and fit can vary between products, garment styles and colors. Treat everything here as guidance to help you decide, not a promise that a given size will fit a given person. When in doubt, ask for the measurements of the exact size and product you are looking at.
